MINISTRY OF JUSTICE
Needs
The Italian judicial system is among the largest and most complex in Europe, with over 1,000 judicial offices, more than 4,500 civil judges, 240,000 lawyers, and over 760,000 auxiliaries. In this context, only in 2022, around 144,000 first-instance civil cases were handled, with an average workload of 2.23 cases per 100 inhabitants. The regulatory framework, ten times more intricate than that of France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, made the adoption of digital solutions urgent in order to improve efficiency, transparency, and accessibility.
Solution
In collaboration with the Ministry of Justice, we designed and implemented the Telematic Civil Trial (PCT), a comprehensive e-Justice ecosystem for the digital management of civil proceedings. The system includes:
-
A case management platform with 25 distinct procedural workflows
-
Electronic archiving and telematic communication tools
- A service portal and APIs for interoperability with external stakeholders
Thanks to a stable and scalable infrastructure, the PCT manages millions of daily accesses and requests from legal professionals.
